On the auspicious day of February 24, 2024, as the first rays of the sun touched the ground in Navalpur, Kuberpur, the hot air balloon soared into the sky, eliciting applause from the gathered crowd. With a ceremonial wave and excitement, the riders embarked on a journey that marked the beginning of a new chapter for Taj Mahotsav - 2024, elevating Agra's tourism industry to new heights.
The enchanting Taj Mahal, with its marble beauty, holds a unique identity globally. Today, history adds another page as Agra hosts a thrilling hot air balloon ride during the Taj Mahotsav. Under the visionary leadership of Agra commissioner Ritu Maheshwari and relentless efforts by District Collector Bhanu Chandra Goswami, this inaugural adventure flight promises to redefine Agra's tourism industry.
Agra, the city of the iconic Taj Mahal, is now positioned internationally on the tourism map, unveiling a spectacular airborne adventure. On the first day, six passengers experienced the ride, including prominent industrialists and media personnel. The operation was led by Mr. Imo Singh, the country's first hot air balloon pilot, with Chief of Staff Captain M. Chauhan ensuring safety and briefing the riders.
According to Captain Chauhan, the balloon operates using LP gas and nitrogen, allowing 6-7 passengers to ascend up to 5000 feet. Due to restricted airspace in Agra, the ride is permitted up to 1500-2000 feet. The balloon ascended nearly 1500 feet on the first day, concluding its journey from Navalpur to Tajganj Nagla Talfi.
The successful launch of the hot air balloon during Taj Mahotsav - 2024 reflects Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's dedicated efforts towards tourism development.
